1. What is your current role in the project that you are working on?
Ans: Interviewer will determine the role of the job that you are suitable for. Some person might be responsible only for the execution of Automation Suite and Analysis of the Result and some may be included in the test case automation and some with higher responsibility may be included in the creation of automation framework and Requirement discussion and preparation of various document during the testing cycle (E.g. Test Plan Document etc).
2. What is the content of the Test Plan document?
Ans: Don't answer what is the format that you are following but you should tell the content of the document that is recommeneded by the IEEE. So please look at the latest document content by searching in the internet.
3. What is the risk in the test planning and what are the factors that you will consider in risk?
4. What is the framework that you have used for automation?
5. What are the various QTP automation framework that are available?
6. What are the types of checkpoints?
7. What is the difference between an Image checkpoint and Bitmap checkpoint?
8. How do you connect to a database and where is the connection string information stored?
9. What is the differenc between Regular Expression and Parameterization?
10. What are the different types if Parameterization.
11. What are the enhancements in QTP 10 as compared to previous version of qtp?
12. What are the different types if actions in QTP?
13. How many actions will get generated if I will launch a web site and will not perform any operation and stop the recording.
Ans - It will not capture any action. Action is captured if and only if a person performs any operation on the application.
14. Can we test web service, web site, Windows application by QTP?
15. Will QTP be able to handle the AJAX enabled controls? If I have an AJAX buttopn that shows picture on web page then how long the QTP will wait for the picture to appear?
16. Write a click action captured by QTP in VB.
17. How QTP uses of Methods and Properties of a test object.
18. How does QTP handle dynamic button? (Dynamic Button - Usually web develop will create some UI controls on run-time on the basis of Business need. Problem with dynamic button is that it's ID changes every excution).
